Goverment Screws Up Santa Letters For Kids Program

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

In the good old days before the invention of big goverment a child could write a letter address it to Santa at the north pole and get a generic reply from the U.S. postal service.  The U.S. postal service now claims due to security reasons if you would like your child to receive a return letter from Santa Claus an adult must fill out the letter send it to the U.S. Postal service and they will send it back to your child.

First off let me say that I wasn’t aware that Santa Claus was on the list of top 100 terrorist in the U.S.  Secondly if the U.S. Postal service is broke and cant afford to do the Santa letter why don’t they just say so. Most people are aware that the U.S. postal service is on the verge of bankruptcy due to poor operations management just like the rest of our government.

Enough ranting. Anyway if you do have the time and the materials to create authentic looking Santa letters for kids then watch the video below and learn what you need to do in order for your child to receive a letter from Santa before Christmas.  If you don’t have the time or would like to send your child a Christmas memory that last a life time then please check out  Santa Letters For Kids. Merry Christmas!

Letter From Santa: Make Your Adopted Child Feel Extra Special

Friday, November 20th, 2009
Jennifer Harker asked:

Adopting a child into the family is a huge step that changes many lives, most especially the child being adopted. Older children need to learn how to fit into their new family. The child may feel like an intruder, may lack self-confidence, and feel isolated despite being surrounded by a welcoming family.

The child needs to hear from a trusted friend that everything will be all right.

A letter from Santa Claus is just the friend he or she needs to hear from because every child knows Santa can be trusted no matter what.

Even an older child who claims not to believe in Santa will appreciate receiving a letter from him because the words of encouragement in the letter help soothe any fears the child may have, and dramatically boost a sagging morale.

If you decide to write the letter yourself then you will need the following equipment:

1. Computer and printer.

2. Good stationary-quality printer paper. Use paper printed with a Christmas theme. Office supply stores offer Christmas paper during the holidays.

3. 9” by 12” size decorative Christmas envelope. Colorful and bright! Santa doesn’t mail letters in plain white envelopes. Also, a regular larger envelope.

4. Sticky address labels. You can usually get labels that match the stationary paper.

5. Sparkly colorful confetti. You will put some of this inside the envelope so that when the child opens the envelope presto! A shower of sparkling bright “magic reindeer dust” bursts out.

6. A font appropriate to the age of the child. If your child can’t read then you can use a fancier font. Otherwise, keep it fairly simple so your child can read his or her own letter.

7. The address of the North Pole post office which is:

North Pole

Christmas Cancellation

Postmaster 5400 Mail Trail

Fairbanks, AK 99709-9999

8. The right amount of postage.

After you write the letter slide it unfolded into the Christmas envelope. Address the envelope as being from Santa Claus to the recipient. Apply enough postage to the second envelope to get it to the North Pole Post Office. Mail the larger envelope before the deadline of December 15th. The Santa letter will be given an authentic North Pole postage mark that will thrill your child.

Now, when you write the letter keep in mind you are Santa Claus writing a letter to your adopted child. Greet the child by his or her first name or nickname. Mention how proud you are of your child, any special interests or skills, and how happy you are your child has a family that loves him or her. Below is an example of how the letter might be written.

“Dear Tanya,

What a holly jolly Christmas it will be for you this year! I am so happy to hear you have become the member of a family that loves you very much. I can’t wait to deliver toys to you and your new brothers and sisters!

Your brother Robert may seem a grump sometimes. I want you to know it is because he is trying to adjust to having a new sister in the family. Adoption is a big step for everyone in the family. Be patient, and shine your beautiful smile! You and Robert will be the best of friends in no time.

Dasher and Dancer and the other reindeer are warming up for the big flight on Christmas Eve. The elves have polished Rudolph’s nose to keep it shining bright. The elves are also putting the final touches on the toys. Oh, I can smell fresh baked cookies from the kitchen! Mrs. Claus has been baking for days. What an exciting time it is for all of us here at the North Pole! Soon I will be coming down your chimney, Tanya, to deliver gifts for you and your family.

You are always in my prayers, my dear. I know you will be safe and happy and loved in your wonderful family. Don’t forget to leave a carrot or two for the reindeer Christmas Eve!

With all my love,

Santa Claus.”

Use the example above to write your letter if you wish. Be sure to personalize it for your child. Also, I suggest writing individual letters for each child in the family.

A letter from Santa Claus brings a smile to every face, no matter what age the person may be. It is a gift of love and magic and healing. Share the gift with your children and all of your loved ones. Santa Letters for Christmas

Friday, July 10th, 2009
Lisa Zitro asked:

One of the best Christmas traditions our family has practiced throughout the years has been the Santa Letter.  Every year, my children have written their “wish list” to Santa Claus.  It started off very basic in the beginning years but gradually became more complex as the children got older. My oldest is now 14…and even though he no longer believes, he still enjoys writing the letter every year to make certain his wishes are heard.

Many things can be learned from a Santa Letter.  For the children, it is their basic writing skills, letter development, grammar and proper sentence structure and punctuation.  My children made a project out of it.  It involved computer knowledge using Microsoft word.  They learned to type, use spell-check, open and save a file.  They even learned how to insert pictures, change text color and modify font sizes to improve the look of their Santa Letter.  It was a great “technology” experience for them not to mention English writing skills without feeling like homework.

For parents, it is a great tool to find out what your kids want for Christmas without being so obvious. You learn all their small and large wishes so you can prepare for your holiday shopping.  You may want to start your Santa Letter project with your kids early so that you can start paying attention to all the sales associated with items on their wish list.  I would recommend starting the week before Thanksgiving.  That way, you can catch the black Friday sales!

Once your children’s Santa Letters are completed and printed, I gathered the letters and let my children know I would mail it for them.   Wink, wink, wink.  Then, I would order a letter from Santa Claus be sent to them.  There are several websites that do this but I liked this one the best….santalettersink.com.  They were timely and well written letters.  I can choose different stationary for each child and select different letter content for each so that it appears as though Santa Claus wrote them each an individual unique letter.

You should see the smiles on my children’s face when they received their letter approximately 2 weeks later.  It was priceless.  They were so surprised and excited at the same time.  It was truly spectacular.  I do this every year and it never fails.  They all get excited every time.  I would recommend this to anyone who has children.

A Santa Letter Reaches The North Pole

Thursday, February 5th, 2009
GeorgeW asked:

This Christmas season is like all the rest, my work shop has been overflowing with toys for months now. Everyone here is busy putting the finishing touches on things. Here at the North Pole we always keep our Christmas trees decorated and our wreaths on our doors. We live with the joy of Christmas all year long. But we are always preparing for that special night of celebration – the night when I visit all the children of the world! It’s a wonderful time indeed.

Just this morning I received a Santa Letter from a special little girl that lives far away from here. She wrote to tell me a secret and to ask for a special Christmas gift. Of course Santa doesn’t share secrets so I can’t tell you what this little girl wants for Christmas. But I’ve already checked my list and she has been nice all year long and I know that’s not always easy to do. This little girl always remembers to leave out a little snack for me on Christmas too! In fact, last year she even left out a treat for my reindeer. They get tired and hungry during that long trip around the world.

I’ll write a letter back to this little girl later tonight. I try to answer all of the letters I get but sometimes that’s hard to do. I get letters all year long from boys and girls that live all around the world. I always write letters in the evening, after Mrs. Claus and I eat supper. It’s a nice way to end the day.

Believe it or not, I get letters from grownups too. After all, they want things for Christmas and I guess sometimes they feel like I’m the only one that can help. I’m happy to do it. I love to make people happy. I think the good in Mrs. Claus has rubbed off on me! Did you know that she usually brings me a plate of warm cookies and milk while I’m writing?

The only day of the year that I don’t answer letters is on Christmas Eve. On that day I am just too busy. I have to be sure I have everything ready for my trip. There’s so much to do when you’re packing Christmas gifts for people all around the world!
